When the Young Lions became an official Legend Car division in 2009, Asphalt Nationals expanded to four divisions. The very first Bandolero Nationals occurred in 1998 at the two-year old Texas Motor Speedway, crowning three race champions. The Bandolero was formally separated into three divisions; Outlaws (16 and up), Young Guns (12-15), and Bandits (8-11). Following the 2009 season, The Outlaws and Young Guns were combined into a single division, retaining the Outlaws name. Since 2022, the minimum age for a driver to race in a Bandolero has been 7 years old. Additionally, from 2019 to 2022, Outlaws and Bandits were divided into East and West. The divisions were reunited for the 2023 season crowing a national Outlaws and Bandits champion.
The 2025 INEX Bandolero Nationals will be held at Charlotte Motor Speedway, America's Home for Racing, September 12-13.
